Reception at BIA provides children with a nurturing and engaging start to their educational journey. Students develop early communication, reading, writing, numeracy, and social skills through structured learning, creativity, and guided play within a caring Islamic environment.
Key Stage 1
In KS1, students begin building strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, science, and independent learning. At BIA, we encourage curiosity, confidence, good manners, and positive learning habits from an early age.
Key Stage 2
KS2 students strengthen their academic understanding while developing critical thinking, responsibility, and confidence. Through the British curriculum and an Islamic learning environment, students are prepared for higher stages of education with discipline and strong character.
Somaliland Curriculum (YEAR 8)
Year 8 students are prepared for the Somaliland National Examination, studying six subjects while continuing to follow the British curriculum alongside national learning requirements.
IGCSE
Students from Year 9 to Year 11 are prepared for their final IGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11. At this stage, students study seven core subjects designed to prepare them for higher education and future opportunities.
Islamic and Arabic
Students across all stages study Islamic and Arabic subjects as an essential part of learning at BIA. Topics include Aqeedah, Fiqh, Hadith, Nahw, Manthumat, and other areas that help students strengthen both knowledge and character.
Poetry memorization is an important part of learning at British Islamic Academy, particularly in Islamic and Arabic education. The rhythm and flow of poetic texts help students absorb knowledge more effectively, making lessons easier to understand, remember, and apply throughout their lives, In Shaa Allah.

What Islamic scholars said about combining religious studies and academics
Imam Al-Shafi'i:
"After knowledge of what is lawful and prohibited, I know of no knowledge to be nobler than medicine."
Give your child a balanced education that combines academic excellence, strong Islamic values, and real-world skills to prepare them confidently for the future.
